The United Conservative Caucus consists of 48 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) who support and promote the work of government in constituencies across Alberta. As a pipeline of talent for Ministers’ Offices, caucus plays a crucial role in training and developing staff to fill political roles in the Government of Alberta, ensuring continued success.

Role Overview

As the Director of Stakeholder Relations (Edmonton & Northern Alberta), you will oversee outreach and relationship building with stakeholders and community groups, primarily in Edmonton but also in northern Alberta. Your responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic advice to the Chief Government Whip, Executive Director, and Caucus on current and emerging issues in Edmonton and northern Alberta.
  • Connecting MLAs with organizations, businesses, and community groups in Alberta’s capital city.
  • Collaborating with the Director of the Southern Alberta Office to:
    • Develop best practices.
    • Strengthen relationships with organizations across Alberta.
    • Enhance the profile of MLAs and the caucus in various communities.
  • Identifying gaps in stakeholder relationships and working to strengthen them.
  • Overseeing the work of a Community Outreach Coordinator to support engagement efforts.

This role requires a strong grasp of Alberta’s electoral landscape, and you must stay informed on political and current affairs. Given the nature of community engagement, some work outside of normal business hours will be required.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience working with community and business groups.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a political environment.
  • Education in community engagement or relations is an asset.
  • Previous leadership experience is an asset.
