Overview
The Director of Constituency Operations leads the day-to-day operations of the Member of Parliament’s constituency office in Bowmanville - Oshawa North, with a specific focus on building and strengthening relationships within local communities. This role combines stakeholder engagement, community outreach, office management, and knowledge of federal government services and policies.
Key Responsibilities
Community Engagement and Outreach
- Maintain a deep understanding of local priorities and provide relevant advice and feedback to the Member.
- Advise the Member on community engagement and federal policy solutions, including funding and grant opportunities for businesses, municipalities, and charitable organizations.
- Assist with flyers, brochures and other print or digital content concerning local priorities.
- Build and sustain relationships with local community groups, faith organizations, youth networks, unions, and businesses.
Office & Operations Management
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of casework and constituency office operations, including procurement, budgeting, expense submissions, correspondence management, and workflow processes, in order to assist the caseworkers and broader team where and when needed. Conduct regular team check-ins to support communication, coordination, and overall office continuity
- Deliver weekly reports to the Member, analyzing correspondence and casework trends and their impact on parliamentary affairs.
- Help maintain high service standards, including achieving strong constituency feedback.
Calendar, Events & Member Support
- Manage the Member’s constituency calendar and communicate with the Member’s Chief of Staff concerning parliamentary calendar commitments.
- Oversee the Member’s event and meeting requests process.
- Accompany the Member to local events and attend events and meetings as required.
