Overview

The Executive Council is seeking a strategic and experienced Executive Director of Operations and Human Resources to lead key operational and people-management functions.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Premier – Operations and Policy, this senior leadership role provides oversight for Executive Council’s human resources and operational functions. The successful candidate will bring sound judgment, discretion, strong relationship-management skills, and the ability to deliver practical solutions in a fast-paced and confidential environment.

Key responsibilities will include full-cycle employee recruitment, performance management, policy development, training and development, along with other key human resource tasks for all 17 Minister’s Offices as well as for Executive Council.

  • Strong people leadership, coaching, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and records-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and related workplace tools.

Qualifications

  • A combination of post-secondary education, preferably in human resources, and relevant professional experience.
  • Approximately 5 to 10 years of progressive human resources experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Previous experience in a political, government, or similarly complex environment is considered an asset.
  • CPHR designation is considered an asset.
